Rubberhead to Larch Hills chalet
Lunch at the chalet and rides at 12:30 back to town.
We are all set for this coming saturdays "up and over" run from Rubberhead to Larch Hills. The plan is to meet at the Rubberhead Parking lot for 9:00, which is at 2.5 km up the 110 FSR. The turn off for the 110 is 4.4 km east past the canoe forest products office on the Trans Canada highway. We will be finishing at the Larch Hills chalet some time between 11:00-12:00. We will have some treats for the end and along the way, but athletes will need to either bring a lunch, or if there is a parent that is willing to shuttle "drop bags" with lunch and a change of clothing to the chalet, that would be ideal. If there is someone willing to do this, please let me know. We are hoping to enjoy a team lunch at the chalet around noon. Please remember to bring plenty of water, a snack and appropriate clothing (it can be much colder the top!).
Here’s the route that we plan to take:
Double D, Rubberhead Climb, Meatgrinder, Muffin Top. This gets you to the upper Rubberhead parking lot. From there, take Half Baked (brand new trail) to Larch Hills Road, Hemlock Glide, Afterthought, The Greenway, Cottonwood Cutoff to South Hub and down Larch Hills Road.
